  Formerly, I would be prone to agreeing with the 1-star person... However, 1st Capital changed my thinking; there is an exception to every "rule". I have been a customer since 2011, on and off. At my first visit, I was able to sit back and watch the team operate; they were slammed. I was somewhat shocked, coming from a diverse background in customer service, team situations, and office settings. I immediately recognized a professionalism, swift organization, genuine kindness to customers in person and on the phone, and a knack for coaching people through the process of these kinds of loans with concern balanced with interest in the doing of business. Through carefully listening I first instantly realized the owner is a good person. He wasn't there, but his presence is always felt -- THAT is a good boss and owner. When his name comes up faces light up. Yes, he is smart and successful, but he did it legitimately. When people complain they are trapped in a high interest loan, sometimes they are actually trapped in their own cycle. No judgments here; that's life for many of us. However, this team truly tries to lend what can be handled and prevent people from borrowing too much, while also being generous. I have, at this point, been there at least 25 times in person and spoken hundreds of times on the phone. I've lived everywhere in the meantime, and keep going to them only. Each loan or issue I had was major (medical issues). For each time I needed them they hands-DOWN saved my butt -- and they have never taken my vehicle. They could have, to be frank. They are blunt at times, and if you want to know how honest they are, just fall too far behind on a payment after they get to know you and they will let you know to get it together -- but they develop the ability to be sincere with you from the start, so it is just realism. They aren't unprofessional -- they are focused because they have to go to the grocery store on their way home too. Their talents at balancing all the complex interpersonal and other issues which come with title loans have grown this business leaps and bounds since. I have seen the office in 10 different configurations and so many other changes to take place -- all things required when a business is succeeding. It wouldn't succeed in Ft. Mill if word of mouth was truly bad. Also, after all this time there has been very little employee turn-over; says a lot right there... So, moving on -- without telling all my business and secrets, last night Arlene in Ft. Mill, Wes, the owner, and Amy, the manager in their call center which outgrew their location, saved my rear end from another disaster. Not only did they go way above and beyond, they all stayed almost an hour after closing because I was stuck in traffic coming from Greensboro. Arlene is newer, but she is amazing! She knows her stuff -- can think accurately, quickly, and fairly. She can really hit the nail on the head -- no hanky panky with her, but in a delightful, refreshing way. Also, sometimes in life things are not what they seem, and that was the case with me last night. I was sick and recovering from being sicker, I was late, my eyes were dark red, I was deliriously tired, and I looked like a crazy lunatic. Arlene didn't know I am a "regular", didn't know I was sick, and there I am needing a loan in a phat BMW (it's old, but looks like a million bucks)... so she was a little skeptical for good reason. However, when I told her the whats and whys of why I looked like I had just been hit by a bus, didn't have all my paperwork, and was very late, both she and her assistant talked me into feeling better. If it could go wrong last night it went wrong... but she made it right :) (see next post)...

  I got a car title loan on my truck and I got what I needed. I am glad I got my loan with Jenny at 1st Capital Finance company. They treated me with real respect and gave me the best customer service I have ever gotten anywhere.
